schedule a stable visit
When one of our saddle fitters is scheduled to make a stable visit, whether for a saddle adjustment or to get measured for a new saddle, we always perform an anatomy consultation. In the following example, our Saddle Fitter, who covers northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, Lauri Ott, will leave a completed form with the evaluation of the correct and compensating musculature she has observed with that client’s horse.
After that consultation, a copy of the form with scores 1-4 will be assigned to each correct and compensating muscle group. Along with the form, the client will also receive a glossary below explaining the score assigned to those muscle groups. On return visits to that stable, another form will be filled out for the client to see the progress with the correct muscular development and the atrophying of compensating musculature.
If this stable visit is for a saddle adjustment, the saddle gullet plate can be adjusted to fit your horse's wither correctly, and if the saddle has wool panels, the saddle can be flocked to address the horse's asymmetry.
